Welcome to NC SWANA

The North Carolina Chapter of SWANA was formed in 1987 and has a current membership of over 460. Like its parent organization, the NC Chapter is committed to advancing the practice of environmentally and economically sound management of municipal solid waste in North Carolina.

Attention Members:

The NC SWANA Board of Directors will be accepting letters of interest from the membership for positions on the Board through June 30, 2017.  If interested in serving as a Board Member, please email a letter of interest along with your contact information, including: primary job sector (public, private, consultant), NC SWANA Committees on which you have served or are interested in serving, and description of how you think you would best be able to serve the Membership and Industry in North Carolina.  Also required is a letter of support from your supervisor, agreeing to allow you to meet the time demands of a Board position.  The Board hosts three major events each year: Spring Conference, Fall Conference, and Road-EO.  Additionally, the Board meets 4-6 times per year; usually in a central location in the State.  One of these meetings is a multi-day Retreat generally in late September or early October.  Finally, you must have been a Member of NC SWANA for at least 1 year to qualify for a Board position.

If you are looking to get more involved, but not sure you are ready to take on a Board position; you are encouraged to serve on one or more of our Committees.  See the link on this site for list of Committees and Committee Chairs to contact about joining a committee.

Please send inquiries and/or above information to Chris Stahl, Chapter President at: president@ncswana.org.

Thank you for your interest in getting more involved with NC SWANA.  We look forward to speaking with you about a Board position in July.

Chris Stahl
